Patrick & Samantha Laton, Wingate, NC, April 2010: “This was our honeymoon. We wanted something peaceful and cozy. The view from our cabin was unbeatable. The hot tub was great after a long day of shopping. The help was always there and was very nice. We couldn’t have asked for a better honeymoon. We are looking forward to coming back. Thanks Angel Cabins!”
Kathryn, Larry, Madison, Jacob and Scout (our dog) Katz, April 2010: “Thanks for the great family vacation while the kids enjoyed their spring break. Tee and Jose were professional, helpful and made our stay wonderful. The whole family appreciates your hard work. Bryson City has a lot to offer and we’ll be back for more memories.”
Matthew & Carrie Malde, Summerville, SC, April 2010: “My husband and I were celebrating our first wedding anniversary and couldn’t have picked a nicer place to spend it. We have had such a wonderful time. We went to Deep Creek to see the three waterfalls there, drove along the Blue Ridge Parkway (wonderful views) and after all of our eventful days we came back to this wonderful cabin, relaxed in the hot tub and enjoyed the beautiful views here and all the stars. The weather was perfect and our stay here was wonderful. Thanks for everything and we hope to stay here again!”
Chris & Kara, Murfreesboro, TN and Margaret Ingraham, Madison, WI, April 2010: “Excellent experience! “Peggy’s” was everything we expected and our expectations were HIGH. Came here with my wife and mother who provided this long weekend as a B-day gift to me. We spent the days trying to keep up with my 72 y.o. Mom on the hiking trails. We will be back in future Aprils as the weather was perfection! Thank you.”
Bill, Litan, Leon, Shuagxi & Jimei, Wingate, NC, April 2010: “We stayed four days here and had a great time. We would love to come back soon.” From a Poet: A Weekend At Marge’s Cabin: Transformation (Friend of Poet) “The cabin was beautiful and very clean. It was so much more than we could have ever expected, and the view was breathtaking. A big thank you to all of you at Angel Cabins, we will be back soon. : ) “
Rick, Gina, Darren, & Francis Haines, Englewood, FL, April 2010: “We have enjoyed the cabin very much this past week. Deep Creek Park down the road was beautiful. Our boys loved the train ride. The town is very quaint and homey and so close to the cabin. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home away from our home. We will definitely plan to re-visit.”
John & Linda Barwick, Cayce, SC, April 2010: “Our stay here has been absolutely incredible. After our daughter’s wedding we really needed the vacation. There has been so much to do but yet there has been plenty of time to sit back and take in all of nature here. Thank you for your hospitality. We will definitely recommend you to other family members and friends. Hate to go home tomorrow!!!”
Mary & Adam & Cocoa Anderson, Charlottesville, VR, March 2010: “Thanks so much for allowing us to stay at your cabin. Adam and I had a fantastic time grilling, enjoying the fireplace and hot tubbing. We loved the location being set on a hillside where it’s dark and so quiet then at sunrise watching the “smoke” on the mountains. We were also thrilled to have found a nice place to bring our dog “Cocoa,” she loved sniffing all the outdoor scents of nature. We look forward to coming back!”
Megan, Stacy & Christina, Denver, CO, March 2010: “This was a great way for three friends to get together, catch up, and spend some quality together time. It was just the break we all needed from the hectic lives we lead. We loved it and we will be back!”
The Barbers, Wake Forest, NC, March 2010: “We really enjoyed the peace and quiet! The cabin was so cute, perfect size. We grilled out steaks one night & had Italian the next night in town. Mountain Perks was really friendly plus had internet connection. Loved the hot tub when it had snowed. Got lucky and won $100 at the casino in Cherokee. Great mini-vacation.”
Randy & Sherry Richardson – Nichole Miller & Niki Barren & Haley (whoff, whoff), Knoxville, TN, March 2010: “Starting to become spring, but still nice and cold at night for the hot tub. We came for my father’s 50th birthday and he couldn’t have been happier. We visited the New Brewery opening up downtown, Nantahala Brewery. I think it’s going to be a big hit! It was wonderful having a cabin that is pet friendly & soooo comfy. Our little dog loves it. The sunrise and set were spectacular and having the Smokies so close made for great runs. We will spread the word and my mom has already said if she rents a cabin again it will be here. So much fun and thanks to Jose for all his help. Thank you for sharing your home with us.”
James & Lisa, Columbia, SC, March 2010: “My husband and I came here for a much needed retreat. My only regret is that we didn’t get here early our first night and that our stay wasn’t longer. We will definitely be back. I hope to bring many friends back to enjoy this wonderful experience. The cabin has all the right little personal touches. And the views – priceless.”
Rick & Meri, Greensboro, NC, March 2010: “We had a beautiful, romantic getaway here. The views are amazing and we enjoyed our stay immensely in spite of the rain. The cabin is warm and welcoming and immaculately kept. Thank you.”
Todd & Carey Wooley, Huntersville, NC, March 2010: “This cabin was perfect! The hot tub was wonderful after a day of fly-fishing. We hope to be back again soon.”

Ron & Linda Roseberry, Hiawassee, GA, March 2010: “Wonderful time! Just a little snow that was beautiful and the fireplace to make for a cozy day. A great “runaway” visit. Thank you again for all you do to provide such a comfortable, peaceful place to be. We’re looking forward to a summer visit! Thanks again.”
Mike & Lisa Kennemore, Kennesaw, GA, March 2010: “There’s only one thing to say about this cabin and our experience here! PERFECT! From the point of check-in until check-out, the owners and staff make sure everything is clean and perfect. This has now become our favorite place. Thank you so much for the great visit.”
Ray & Brenda Creech, Fayetteville, NC, March 2010: “This has been a perfect family retreat. We celebrated our daughter’s 20th birthday here and she says it has been perfect. Walking the Indian Creek trails was not the birthday experience she was expecting, but we took advantage of our ‘family time’ and made it memorable. Thanks for the birthday card and cupcakes. They were certainly a surprise and made our stay here more special. The cabin is beautiful and it has an “at home” feeling. This is a birthday she will always remember.”
Mark & Dorothy Pittman, Richlands, NC, March 2010: “Loved the time at the cabin. The hot tub was wonderful after walking in the Smokies and at the Biltmore. Thank you for everything. You were so very helpful.”
Tee Newkirk, Greensboro, NC, March 2010: “Wow! Angel Cabin, #5, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! Four of my friends blindfolded me and surprised me with this Angel Cabin. Thank you so much Tee for everything. You are a wonderful woman with an awesome spirit, very caring and humble. Your awesome spirit made staying here even better, just when I thought things couldn’t get any better. This was the greatest birthday I have ever had, and you were a part of it I will always remember. Thank you. You really blessed me that you were concerned with/about the fire that happened to my family. I am so amazed that you immediately took action, not even knowing me. WOW! Thanks for everything. So much more I can say, but everything was great.”
Rachel Wilson, Greensboro, NC, March 2010: “This trip has been nothing short of a miracle for us (5) women. We have enjoyed the celebration of Tee Newkirk’s B-day! We appreciate your love, support and the extra things that were done. May God bless you and we look forward to coming back.”

LTC. James P. Moye, Ret. And Donna Marie, Salisbury Mills, NY, March 2010: “Tee & Jose, we both want to thank you for a joyous experience of mind and body. The complimentary bottle of Oak Leaf wine and dog biscuits was a wonderful gesture. We did not bring Gracie with us this time, maybe next. We will bring the biscuits to her. The cabin was just lovely – clean and well supplied. We loved the hot tub, fireplace, and although it rained on our second day the sound of the rain on the roof was so relaxing. We intend to return many times to Angel #5. We will pass on our experience to family and friends. With sincere appreciation.”
Joey, Tara & Teagan Brown, Port Saint Lucie, FL, February 2010: “We enjoyed our stay so much. The cabin is beautiful and exceeded our expectations. Very clean and tidy. Loved the washer and dryer amenities. The beds and pillows are the most comfortable we’ve ever slept on. The view was incredible. We loved the privacy yet being close to civilization. Our 2 year old daughter had a great time on the stairs and playing in the upstairs closet. Having the SMNP so close was a great treat. We drove through to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg two times. Seeing the snow on the ground was spectacular for us Floridians. We plan to be back as soon as we can.”
Heather & Jeremy, NY, February 2010: “The cabin is utterly amazing. We spent much needed time relaxing in front of the fire and in the spa (even with the snow!). This weekend was planned to get “alone time” and it turned out wonderfully. Tee and Jose you both exceeded our hopes and expectations with our dilemma. Thank you again! The wine was fantastic as well. This weekend’s goal was accomplished and we hope to be back soon.” A special note from “Good Luck” Jeremy: “Good Luck (haha)! And thanks for reminding me, I do have an Angel now. I enjoyed our stay very much and will be back. Sincere thanks for EVERYTHING!”
Sean Templeton & Heather Sherrill, Mooresville, NC, February 2010: “Our stay in this beautiful cabin was perfect. Thank you for letting us add a day to our visit. We had always talked of retiring to Asheville, but think we have changed our minds to Bryson City! Such a beautiful town and beautiful people. We love the Jacuzzi and the amazing view. We needed this break from the real world, which includes a 15 year old, 12 year old, and 4 year old. It was so nice to be able to be “grown-ups” again for a few days. We WILL see ya’ll again.”
The Dream Team! Rober Freeman and Michaela, Shanette, Cherlonda, Kechia, Atlanta, GA, February 2010: “Our stay here was very peaceful. We really enjoyed the getaway. Thanks for having us, we look forward to coming back! Thanks for everything, Tee.”
Kevin & Christina Kivd, Asheboro, NC, February 2010: “We love it! This place is great! The location is awesome as well as the views. We had a great time. Just minutes before writing this, we saw a coyote trotting through the woods right next to the cabin. We were standing by the hot tub when we heard him coming. He must have come within 20 feet of us before realizing we were there and promptly returned into the woods. It was a once in a lifetime experience, and a perfect way to end our little vacation. We will definitely be coming back! Thank you, Tee.”
Jennifer & Rick DeBerry, Iman, SC, February 2010: “Very nice. Would definitely come back. Felt like home-away-from-home. Our stay was very memorable. Thanks for the hospitality.”
Travis Wiggins, February 2010: “Awesome. Make sure to go to the waterfalls and sit in front of the fireplace.”
Charlotte & Tim, Raleigh, NC, February 2010: “There are no words to express the beauty of this area and our cabin, the prettiest and coziest out here. This was our very first trip away together and memories here we’ll carry the rest of our lives. It is so nice and just the perfect “love nest.” One day we hope to even build our own little cabin for our future, and build it exactly like the “Maggie Lou” so we can remember and keep it with us. My daughter and son-in-law want to come up in October for their anniversary on Oct. 11. I know they will love it just as much. Tee, thank you for taking care of my sweetie’s requests for me. I can tell they were placed with love and care. Best to you always.”
Jarret - Royston, GA & Nicole – Toccoa, GA, February 2010: “We came up to Maggie Lou’s Retreat for Valentine’s day weekend on our way up to Bryson City it started snowing, so what would have taken us two and a half hours to arrive took us four and a half. It was a beautiful, peaceful stay. We enjoyed the hot tub while it snowed. Can’t wait to return next year!”
Tony, Gaby & Mafe, Ft. Lauderdale and Peru, February 2010: “We had a great stay. What a quiet, charming, peaceful, and lovely place. Thank you, Gracias!”
Mark & Nancy Thaxton, Hazelhurst, MS, February 2010: “We had a very enjoyable trip while we were here. Love, love, love the cabin and even this time of year the views were beautiful. Also the hot tub was very relaxing after a long drive here and after an all day event at Biltmore Estates. We want to come back another time and bring the rest of the family – also our Boston Terrier, Zoe, loved the stairs.”
Kena & Ben Henley, Winston Salem, NC, February 2010: “We had such a wonderful time here! This was like our 2nd honeymoon! The hot tub was just the thing after the drive here Friday. We went into Sylva and had dinner at Lulu’s and walked around. Saturday we drove to Cherokee & Maggie Valley. But we couldn’t wait to come back to the cabin & jump in the hot tub. The view is so beautiful. Thank you so much. This was the perfect place to spend our anniversary. It even snowed a little. So great! We will be coming back again. We can’t wait to tell our friends and family what a wonderful place this is. Thank you.”
Joseph, Tara & Teagan Brown, Port St. Lucie, FL, February 2010: “Our stay was fantastic. Incredible view, spacious and comfortable cabin. Couches, pillows & beds were AMAZING!! We drove through the SMNP two times into Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg to go shopping. What amazing views with the snow on the mountains. Truly a treat for us Floridians!!! We will be back!”
Heather McDonald & “Good Luck” Jeremy Kenyon, Thomasville, NC, February 2010: “Amazing! The cabin is beautiful!! We spent some much needed time relaxing in the spa (in the cold). Tee & Jose, you exceeded our expectations in everything. We greatly appreciate the help and will not forget it.”
Kevin & Christina Kivid, Asheboro, NC, February 2010: “It was awesome and great! We loved it! We looked at the wildlife, got in the hot tub and cooked out!"
Jessica Hendrick & Tyler Scarborough, Fayetteville, NC, February 2010: “Amazing! This is the perfect spot for a romantic get-a-way. The cabin is really quaint and cozy, not to mention totally secluded but not too far from town. We were originally planning to spend Valentine’s Day in Raleigh, but ended up staying an extra night here instead. We enjoyed relaxing while watching TV in front of the fire. The hot tub! We are already planning our next trip her
Tim Haas & Charlotte, Raleigh, NC, February 2010: “Words can’t express – Loved It! The cabin was so nice and peaceful we didn’t even want to go out! We loved Bryson City and everyone was friendly and helpful. Thanks to Tee & Jose for a wonderful stay and precious memories.”
Andrea & Ryan Fisher, Calera, AL, January 2010: “The cabin and accommodations were absolutely perfect! Maggie Lou’s Retreat is cozy and comforting, and the view is absolutely to die for. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Bryson City & we’re already figuring out when we’ll be able to come back. The hot tub is marvelous! Thank you so much for the wine and the comfortable, clean surroundings. We spent quite a bit of time out sightseeing, but I can just as easily picture a wonderful weekend doing nothing but relaxing in this beautiful cabin. We’ll definitely be back.”
Jose & Grethel Cabonell, Miami, FL, January 2010: “We want to take time to thank you for the hospitality. The wine and chocolate were absolutely fantastic. Jeff, Susie, Mia & Lily Turk, Summerville, SC, January 2010: “We have spent an incredibly relaxing few days here in this beautiful cabin. Our daughters (ages 3 & 5) have really enjoyed exploring upstairs, possibly even more than hiking to the water falls. My husband and I have spent some quality time together, which was the goal of our short vacation. (He will be deploying for five months as soon as we get back home.) We have all spent plenty of time lazing in the hot tub (despite some really cold rain!) Thank you so much for providing everything we could need or want during our stay. We will be recommending your fabulous cabin to our friends and hope to return here ourselves before too long.”
Paul & Angela Connett, Gaston, SC, January 2010: “I am so pleased to have stumbled upon the Angel Cabins website when trying to plan a relaxing mountain getaway. Paul and I loved staying here. We visited the Dillsboro Chocolate Shop and then The Doggy Bakery. We have enjoyed our stay so much this weekend we are planning to come back in the spring. We would rather take a relaxing vacation here with our canine children, Ryder and Rascal, than take a cruise without them. So guess what? We will be contacting you again Tee and Jose. Thanks for a marvelous and peaceful, quiet relaxing weekend. We loved seeing the snow on the top of the GSMNP!”
Lina, Juan, Adolpho, Monica, Menchi, and Carlos, January 2010: “Wonderful cabin, thank you so much for the service, we had a great time. The experience was great, we’re looking forward to coming back. The view was beautiful, the quaint interior decorations, and its proximity to shopping and entertainment was great. We also loved the Jacuzzi and how you had it ready! Thank you so much, have a happy, enjoyable, and peaceful year. Happy New Year! Thank you.”
The Hebb Family: Eddie, Amanda, & Jackson, Charlotte, NC, January 2010: “Our only regret was not staying longer. Everything was just perfect & completely exceeded our expectations. Thank you, Jose & Tee! We played in the snow at Newfound Gap, took short hikes to several beautiful waterfalls then relaxed our tired muscles in the hot tub at night. A picture is only a picture, when we first walked into this cabin we were taken aback and completely surprised by how very nice this cabin is – both inside and out. And the little things (like books hidden in drawers and the potato masher!) were very thoughtful and unexpected. Things here could not have been any better. We will cherish our memories, take them with us, and then come back again for more! Thanks again for your hospitality and generosity.”
Dave & Mel Jones, Charleston, SC, January 2010: “Cabin was clean, great location. Hot tub was great. We will be back in the summer.”
Greg & Tami Garrett, Columbia, SC, January 2010: “Thank you for providing a beautiful cabin. This is absolutely a joy and pleasure being here. Our only regret being, we weren’t here long enough. We would like to thank Michelle and her husband, Chris, for their wonderful hospitality. They brought us up when the car wouldn’t make the hill in the snow and were so accommodating to pick us back up and take us to our car. We had a peaceful and wonderful time watching the sun come up and all the stars at night. The view is breathtaking. This was a much needed tranquil escape for us.”
David & Stephanie Estevez, Hialeah, FL, January 2010: “This was a wonderful experience! Thank you Angel Cabins for your kindness and wonderful hospitality. To Do: - Visit the trails and waterfalls – go grocery shopping (IGA is close and cheap) – take many pictures! – Do come back! Do Not: eat only fast food.”
Caitlyn Ehas & Bruce Clawson, Tampa, FL, January 2010: “We had such a wonderful time here. The cabin was so beautiful. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking. Grethel Family, Chapel Hill, NC, January 2010: “Our stay went very well. Actually my siblings never had an opportunity to see actual snow. Through this experience, we were able to share lots of hobbies together. We loved taking time off to relax with family. The mountain scenic views were awesome. Great place to stay.”
David & Erika Atkinson, Clayton, NC, January 2010: “I'm not sure really where to begin. I guess I should say, "Thank You," but that just doesn't seem to be enough. The time that Erika and I shared together this past weekend was more than amazing... it will truly be a time that we will never forget. From the coziness of the cabin, to the beautiful view from the deck/hot tub... it was all... perfect! Since it's been close to 8 years since Erika and I have spent any real time away from our children, I would be a fool to try to explain what it was like to reconnect with her and spend time as husband and wife instead of mother/father... techie/teacher... financial planner/social coordinator... just the two of us and that's all that mattered. I'll be completely honest with you and tell you that I teared up a little when it came time to leave because I wasn't ready for it to end. But Erika and I have promised each other that it will NOT be another 8 years before we get to do this again. :) Anyway, I wanted to thank you for all the effort you put into making our time together perfect... because it was just that... perfect. Everything didn't work out the way I had planned it... I'm thankful for that... because I couldn't have planned it any better than it was. :) I hope you all remain successful with your cabin rentals so that we can come back and visit soon! With thanks and wishing you many blessings!”
Kirsten & Murat, Chapel Hill, NC, January 2010: “Very pleasant and relaxing, fully outfitted kitchen with good pots was a plus. Breathtaking and excellent view! Comfy bedroom arrangement, well planned. We hiked the Smokey’s Indian trail and ate meals watching the stunning view.”
David & Erika Atkinson, Clayton, NC, January 2010: “This has been a magical vacation! Do I have a great guy or what! Thank you so much for all the help you gave him in setting all this up. The gifts of chocolates and wine were wonderful. The flowers were beautiful. Loved the hot tub and rocking on the deck. Thank you for all you have done. I hope that David and I come back soon. Much love and many blessings.”

David & Elin Stocks, Holly, Erich, Carolyn Stocks, Katie and Nicholas Myers, Lenn, Meredith & Leanna Jackson, Jacksonville Beach, FL, December 2009: “Our reason for coming to Bryson City from Greenville, NC, Jacksonville, FL, and Ft. Myers, FL was to attend our daughter/grandaughter’s graduation from WCU on December 19. Even though this event was cancelled because of snow, we have all had a wonderful time! The youngest, Katie (age 6) from Florida asked tonight, “Do we have to leave North Carolina?” We rode the Polar Express Thursday night, shopped in Bryson a couple of days, soaked in the hot tub (at least the youngest and heartiest), and enjoyed the snow. We just wished there’d been more. And tonight, there was snow tubing in Maggie Valley. What a week this has been! We love the cabin. It is so beautifully and tastefully decorated. The fireplace is special. Rufus and Julie appreciated the doggy treats. Thanks for providing all the niceties that make your guests feel special.” Reggie, Kim, Preston, Dalton, Mike & Tammy Long, December 2009: “We really enjoyed the beautiful cabin and the wonderful hot tub. The views are amazing and the people of Bryson City are wonderfully friendly. My husband loved the closeness to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and to all the other attractions. May God richly bless each one who stays in this cabin.”

There’s simply not enough words to describe our stay. This was our way of describing the many abstract features: Alluring, Naturalistic, Glowing, Elegant, Laid Back = ANGEL – Cozy, As, Beautiful, Immaculate, Neighborly, Secure = CABINS. Will be back!! Definitely recommending!!!”
Mark & Angela Dayoc, Jacksonville, NC, November 2009: “We really enjoyed our stay at Angel Cabins. Bryson City is a wonderful town and brought us back to a time when life was at a slower pace and less stressful. Choosing Angel Cabins was an excellent choice on our behalf to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. We have been so blessed and enjoyed our time together as we reminisced over the years and look forward to what the Lord has in store for us to come. Highlights: hiking in Deep Creek and relaxing in the hot tub (10 mile hike). Excellent church service at Bryson City Church of God. Meeting the wonderful people around town, everyone was so friendly. Mountain Perks has excellent desserts. We look forward to coming back.”

Jeff and Susan Santerre, Ocala, FL, November 2009: “Please excuse the tardiness of this letter. My wife Susan and I visited Maggie Lou's Retreat in November of 2009 for our 20th wedding anniversary. As we had never been to the Bryson City area before, we looked around on the internet for a cabin and site after site, review after review lead us to your cabins. Needless to say, our expectations were very high. No need to worry, the glowing reviews were only about 25% accurate as they could not come close to properly describing the beauty, cleanliness and warmth of the cabin. Everything was wonderful. But to go above and beyond, you left a wonderful bottle of wine and delicious chocolates for us to enjoy. This was no rental cabin, this became home for 5 days. The view was spectacular, the beds comfortable, everything was extremely clean. Excellent all around!! Yet, that was not what really did it for us. Your generosity and hospitality made the trip truly special. Specifically, the way you saved our day trip to the Biltmore. To drive out and help me jump start my car on a Sunday morning went so far beyond my expectations. I called simply to ask if you might know someone in Bryson City that might be available on a Sunday morning to help us, however you went out of your way to give us aid and ensure we had a great day. WOW! We cannot begin to thank you enough for this warm-hearted gesture. You are truly great hosts and wonderful people. In closing, it probably goes without saying that we will be back again. As far as we are concerned, there are no other vacation cabins in N.C. except Angel Cabins. We are your customers forever!! Thank You, thank you, thank you!!! From the bottom of our hearts.”
The Garlocks, Ft. Jennings, OH, November 2009: “We had a wonderful time. Love the view. Don’t change a thing. We went to the football game and had a blast. And we loved the shopping. We will be back.”

Eric & Desiree, Durham, NC, November 2009: “We recently moved to Durham, NC from the northeast. This is our first trip to WNC and it certainly will not be our last. Tee and Jose, this cabin is amazing! We loved sitting in the hot tub and taking in the mountain views, especially after our 11 mile hike in Deep Creek. Our evenings by the fire were so quiet and peaceful. Thanks so much for suggesting Trish for massages. We highly recommend! We are heading back east fully recharged – Thank you.”
Scott, Tracy, Ty, & Sydney Schmeltzer (Buster & Rusty, too), Goldsboro, NC, November 2009: “We had an amazing time in the cabin! We had the most perfect weather, blue skies as far as the eye could see. By far the best thing about the cabin was the breathtaking views and the pure bliss of the hot tub. We do appreciate the fact that we could bring our dogs. They had a great time.”

Also the people in the area are extremely nice (Mountain Perks Café). We loved all the adventures in the area as well as coming back to a secluded cabin. It really felt like home. Thanks for all you’ve done. Our adventures: relax and check out Mountain Perks, Biltmore House, drove to Tennessee, Nantahala Gorge Canopy Tours, back to Mountain Perks Café, took in a movie and ate at Guayabitos (excellent).”
Kenise & Namilca, Fayetteville, NC, November 2009: “We would have to say that Chelsea’s Choice truly lived up to our expectations. We appreciate the warm welcome and the new mattresses that helped us “sleep like angels.” We’ll be sure to spread the word about our “home away from home.” Thanks!”
James & Jason, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, November 2009: “Thank you for an exceptional first-time Smokey Mountains experience. I loved the hiking at Deep Creek (we saw a black bear!) and the zip line was great fun. The fireplace was the cherry on top of the Appalachian “sundae.” The cooler weather and the mountain views were exactly what I had in mind while I was roasting down there in that Florida sauna. Your hospitality and recommendations made the trip memorable. Look forward to a return visit. Warm regards and sincere appreciation. Thank you, too, Michelle!”

Susan & Jeff Santerre, Ocala, FL, November 2009: “The cabin was beautiful. Our stay was very relaxing. Caleena Barwick & John Greenwood, West Columbia, SC, October 2009: “October 9 – I’m so glad to be back at Angel Cabins! I didn’t get a chance to write in the book on April 10th when we stayed in cabin #3, so I’m making sure I write in this one. John & I both want to thank you all for the arrival gifts. This was a much needed mini-vacation after the past couple stressful months. Of course when John & I arrived it was raining, so we couldn’t use the hot tub; however, we’re getting used to this. It’s nice though to sit in the living room watching movies and falling asleep to the sound of the rain. John & I are very excited about our extended honeymoon stay on April 3rd, 2010.
Peggy & Mac LaBat and Bryan & Kathy McElroy, Louisiana, October 2009: “Thank you for a wonderful over-nite stay. “Maggie Lou” was just as warm and cozy as “Peggy’s Peace.” We loved our stay in North Carolina! One day we will return for a longer stay – loved every minute.”
Thomas & Heather Roberson, Roper, NC, October 2009: “Wow! What a great way to start our new life together. This place is truly amazing!! We stayed here for 3 nights and to both of us it definitely was not long enough. The cabin is great: clean and equipped with everything we needed. Thanks to you guys for everything. It’s truly serene here. The back deck is awesome and the hot tub was great after a long day. Thomas and I have 4 kids between us, and we would LOVE to bring them all back. Maybe we can make this a once a year thing for our family. Wish we could stay longer but home and kids await our arrival back home. We live in Roper, NC (about 45 minutes from Outer Banks) and it’s un-real what we are missing. The perfect place for a short honeymoon. Could not have asked for anything else. So thanks again, and we will definitely see you soon with kids and have lots of friends who would love this cabin. p.s. on second thought when we bring our kids back, then we will need another stay by ourselves!!! Vacation after vacation! Ha Ha.”
Josh & Briana Robbins, Nashville, NC, October 2009: “It was wonderful. Cabin has everything you could need. Location is quiet, secluded, and the view is gorgeous. We enjoyed the petting zoo in Cherokee with dancing bears.” (Chelsea’s Choice)

Josh & Briana Robbins, Nashville, NC, October 2009: “My husband and I came last year for our 1st anniversary. We could not have asked for anything better. It even snowed while we were in the hot tub the night of our 1st anniversary. We made so many great memories the first stay that we returned for our 2nd anniversary. It is truly a wonderful experience. The breathtaking view (especially from the deck), the beautiful colors of nature, the quiet secluded location – it is absolutely the perfect get away. My only complaint would be having to leave and go back home. We hope to make this an annual vacation and return every year on our anniversary. Thank you for a wonderful, romantic get-a-way. The scenery of Clingman’s Dome was spectacular, which looked over the entire Smoky Mountains. The splendor of color was phenomenal! After dinners we will go to the National Park just down the road. We explored the park and then drove around the area and found ourselves at the other nature park. The sunset was gorgeous atop the mountain.”
Bryan & Kathy McElroy and Mac & Peggy Labat, Houma, LA (60 miles south of New Orleans) October 2009: “Thank you Tee and Jose for a great week at your cabin – Peggy’s Peace. Enjoyed every view and enjoyed the town of Bryson City. We hope to return soon.”
John & Suzanne Flach, Chesapeake, Virginia, October 2009: “This was the perfect spot and the best way to spend our 10th anniversary together. In the 1st years of any marriage, you are learning not only about each other, but also about who you are and how you are in a relationship. These years start off great because you are still in romantic love with your spouse. How quickly this changes and you start “letting your guard down” and showing the real you. You each start to see your true character (how you are behind closed doors). You begin to get annoyed at the little things. Then the little things turn into bigger things and before you know it, you stop doing the things for your spouse to let them know you really care about them. For some, children come along and they are wonderful. Your children are the most important thing you have ever done. The two of you put all of your effort into being a good parent. The problem is, at this point, if you’re not careful, you can let life get in the way of what got you to this point. (Your relationship and marriage). Before you know it, you’ve been married for 10 years and things have gone so fast, you’ve forgotten how important that time together is for each other. We only started to realize we were living as “roommates” instead of husband and wife within this past year. We are committed to our marriage, will do everything for it. We made ourselves take this “retreat” to give us some much needed time together. Year 10 for us has started out as a new commitment for us. I would not change anything or where we are because it took us to get here to understand the importance of this commitment. I intend to make changes and appreciate life, my family and my wife more. I intend on slowing down and enjoying the small things. I wrote this to share my experience of this wonderful cabin, what it has meant to the two of us. I enjoyed reading everyone’s comments and seeing that others have used this cabin for anniversaries, and family getaways, and honeymoons. I would like to thank Tee for the hospitality and being very truthful when she said, “I think you will enjoy this place!” She was very right. We did enjoy it! As most everyone else has written, we also hope to be back. Next time we come I hope it’s not to re-connect but to continue on our relationship. Even if it’s for our 20th anniversary. I hope that everyone that comes here has a similar experience. I wish that when you leave here, you take that “peace” with you and share it with everyone in your life. Enjoy! And thanks!”
Jordon & Zan, Huntsville, AL, October 2009: “Stay! Perfect after “ruffin” it in a tent for a few days. From the view to the cozy home-like feel, amazing! Was a quick (much needed) getaway from the stresses of everyday life back home! Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful cabin with us. Sad to go, but hope to be back soon.”
Andy, Andrea, & Wolfe, charlotte, NC, October 2009: “This was the perfect getaway! The cabin was comfy and homey with all the amenities we needed. The views and scenery are absolutely breathtaking. Everything made us feel at peace and completely relaxed, and we’re a bit sad to be leaving so soon. It was an 8th anniversary surprise and it was perfect! We felt like the only people in the world. Thank you for making our stay so memorable. We hope to come back soon.”
J. and Nancy and Lucy and Poppy, Satellite Beach and Clermont, FL, October 2009: “Thank you for the dog treats. As it turned out though, they weren’t needed. On our first day in the GSMNP our little Chihuahua took down and mauled a bull elk. It was horrible. After going round and round with the park rangers, we paid the fine and came back here. We didn’t have to feed Poppy for the rest of the week. The amenities and privacy of the cabin makes it nice. We also enjoyed folklore and tall tales of the locals in Bryson City. Thanks!”
Donna & Jim Shaw, Columbia, SC, October 2009: “Thank you for all you do to make Angel Cabins the best ever. We enjoyed everything the area has to offer and can’t wait to return. This is our 2nd year here. The people, the scenery and your hospitality makes it worth the trip up. We love it. See ya next year.”
Anna & Marc Bailey, Wilmington, NC, October 2009: “Thank you so much for a wonderful stay! It was so nice to get away for a few days and relax. We truly appreciated the hospitality and personal touch that you put into the visit. We enjoyed hiking in the Smokey Mountain Park and we did the train ride, and river rafting up past Nantahala Village. Dinner at Johnny Mac’s was great. We also had breakfast at a new café near the train museum. Millie’s maybe? She’s only been open for four days and was incredibly sweet and cooks the meals from scratch. We’d highly recommend her. Thanks again for a wonderful visit.”
Josh & Briana Robbins, Nashville, NC, October 2009: “My husband and I came last year for our 1st anniversary. We could not have asked for anything better. Not only is the cabin & the view spectacular, but the hospitality is warm, gracious, and thoughtful. Not a single comfort, want, or need is ever overlooked. We enjoy coffee on the deck watching the sunrise, warming up and unwinding in the hot tub, hanging out with the wonderful folks at Across the Trax. Get the best massage right at the cabin with Trish. The privacy is amazing!” (Bailey’s Best)

We didn’t do a whole lot but that was exactly what we wanted. This is our first time away without kids (18 month old twins and a 9 year old at home) in 3 years and our goal was to relax! We did go to Harrah’s, hiking at Deep Creek, and walks around downtown Bryson City. I loved all the little shops. The views here are breathtaking, the cabin was very clean and I loved the rustic charm and feel to it. We will be coming back hopefully every year. Thank you.”
Scott & Terri Munday, Sanford, NC, September 2009: “Thank you so much for a wonderful place to stay. We were here on business and couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing visit. Monday night we were barbequing, looked down and saw a black bear hanging out eating the berries. We got some beautiful pictures. We’ll definitely be back next year and will tell our family and friends. The wine and chocolates were a nice added touch. I visited the factory in Dillsboro and got some chocolates for my children. However, Sunday was beautiful and we made the most of it. We traveled to Nantahala Village and the Outdoor Community area to watch the kayakers and rafters run the river. We drove to Fontana Village, back to Robbinsville and finally back to Bryson City. We had dinner Sunday at Thirteen Moons in Nantahala Village, great food and service. This was a great weekend getaway in a quiet secluded cabin. The hot tub was wonderful after a long day.”
Brian & Becky Leidinger, Lakeland, FL, September 2009: “We chose to visit this area because we had such fun and amazing memories from several years prior. We looked on-line for months before we found this cabin. When we called Jose & Tee were so friendly and inviting. The cabin was perfect! I appreciated the beautiful surrounds and the cleanliness of the cabin. The accommodations were just great and made us feel at home. The town is so nice and the views through the mountains were gorgeous. We enjoyed ourselves even with the rain. The hot tub is great at night after shopping all day. The lightening bugs were a special treat. Mountain Perks took the place of our Starbucks craving. If you need a Starbucks when Mountain Perks closes, you will need to go to Sieverville, enjoy the ride. White water rafting down the Nantahala is a blast when the water is not too high. We enjoyed celebrating our 17th year anniversary here. We appreciated your hospitality Jose, Tee, and Michelle.”
Jenn & Isaias, Sarasota, FL, September 2009: “We still have two full days to go but we feel like we could stay forever! The fact that this amazing cabin is also pet friendly is a one in a million find! It is so clean, you cannot tell pets are allowed, which is appreciated – even by pet owners! We could not have found a more perfect cabin – and believe me, we searched and searched on-line! This one has everything we dreamed of, coming from the flat lands of Florida. The view, the hot tub, pet friendly, the loft, the décor, the wooded, private setting – perfect. I could go on and on. We plan to do whitewater rafting and waterfall hiking still, buy we have enjoyed the peace and serenity here the most. Thank you.”

We will be back, without a doubt. Many thanks.”
Dominic & Elsa, Surfside, SC, September 2009: “This vacation was from the “Lord.” We needed peace of mind and we got it here. Tee, this cabin is the best!! We really enjoyed the view, staying here was very Relaxing. Dominic had a fabulous time riding his bike all over the hills, he didn’t want to leave. I had to tie him up and force him in the car. We enjoyed figuring out if there was anything you’d overlooked in your efforts to make us perfectly comfortable and at home. You thought of everything. We took the GSM Railroad trip and relaxed on the deck for some star gazing. On the rainy night, we watched your DVD (thanks to Tee for coaching us to use the Input button on the TV remote) and played charades. When planning this trip I was overwhelmed with the choices for accommodations in this area. As soon as I spoke to Jose I knew we had made the best choice. Thank you for your hospitality. We had a wonderful time!”

This is an amazing retreat and Jan and I will be back. Thank you!”
Hunter and Rebecca Newman, Starkville, MI, August 2009: “Thank you for providing us with an incredible place for our honeymoon. The cabin could not have been more cozy and felt like a home away from home. The view was amazing. The area was so quaint and we want to highly recommend and thank several places that also helped make our trip the perfect memory: 1) 13 Moons Restaurant was a beautiful, romantic setting and unbelievable steaks. (Located at Nantahala Village, a little hard to find). 2) J.J.’s Tubing, tremendous hospitality and they took the time to ensure we had a great time at Deep Creek! 3) Endless River Outfitters were the perfect choice for white water rafting. They were smaller than NOC and a lot more personable. (very knowledgeable, too). 4) The Filling Station Restaurant, Bryson City: Delightful!!. We love Angel Cabins and will be sure to pass on the name and quick to return. Much love.”

We moved here from Litchfield, NH a year ago and would never go back!”
The Chandlers, Charlotte, NC, July 2009: “We had a wonderful time here in Bryson City. The wine, chocolates, and birthday card was an impressive and welcoming gesture. The cabin is beautiful with a mild rustic comfort. Your choices of activities were “spot on” for the adventure we were looking for. Carolina Outfitters was a great whitewater trip, but could be a little more adventurous. LOL! We rode the Mystery Dinner Theatre Train and had an amazing time. Very much recommend to any future guests who may inquire. We had great time tubing with only small causalities. The Filling Station is a great option for deli sandwiches and the staff was very pleasant. The hot tub is a nice touch to the peaceful environment and very good for sore muscles and bruises after a day of adventure. The cabin was clean and very cozy and we did not find anything left out of your set-ups in the kitchen. The bedding is also great touch for a restful night’s sleep. We will definitely return. Thank you.”
James & Barbara Bowers, Goose Creek, SC, July 2009: “We spent our first stay in Angel Cabins on this trip. We have been coming to NC and Tenn since we were children (separately of course). We have been to Bryson City many times, but this was the first time we stayed in a cabin here. We had searched the web for cabins for two days. The last one we found was Angel Cabins. We talked to Jose on the phone and booked then. We were not disappointed during our stay with you. The cabin was neat, sort of rustic, and nice. The location was out of the way, quiet, and pretty good for getting around. We went out to the Blue Ridge Parkway twice, the Cheola Skyline drive, Waynesville, Dillsboro, and Robbinsville. There was a nice July 4th celebration in Bryson city. Lastly, thank you for the nice white wine from Chile and the chocolates. We will be back again.”
Mark, Julie, Austin, & Nathan Hall, Weatherford, TX, July 2009: “We had an amazing time. We were crazy enough to bring two small children (ages 3 and 5) to the mountains and they loved it. The loft was a big hit and our oldest learned to play checkers when we found the game stash. My husband and I have loved the view. This was a great escape. (In fact it’s a little too perfect since our three year old cries every time we mention going home!)”
David & Donna Hyatt, Columbus, GA, July 2009: “Bailey’s Nest or Bailey’s Best? Either way, both names fit. Your beautiful cabin, tucked into the side of a forest, has been a never-ending delight from the moment we first opened the door. The well-equipped kitchen and comfortably appointed furnishings were very much appreciated. We felt at home immediately! Then the panoramic view of the Smoky Mountains greeted us through the double French doors. Breathtaking! From the moment we stepped onto the deck, we kept gravitating into one of the rocking chairs to soak up the magnificent view. Every entertainment or extra amenity we desired was but minutes from the door. The local residents are friendly, the attractions plentiful and the shops are diverse and interesting. It was a pleasure to walk the streets without being jostled by a crowd. The hot tub under the stars was a wonderful way to end the day. There’s no need for us to search for the perfect Smoky Mountain getaway anymore. It’s right here at Angel Cabins! You’re hospitality has been marvelous. Thank you.”
The Singleton Family, Myrtle Beach, SC, July 2009: “We had such a great time! The cabin is so cozy and cute. We really appreciate how stocked it is. The view is shocking. We love the rocking chairs and of course the hot tub. The two daughters (16 & 20 yrs old) slept in the loft and loved it. Dad slept downstairs – the beds are all so comfortable! We went to Nantahala Outdoor Center and whitewater rafted – had a great time!! The guides are wonderful and friendly. We’ve also hiked most of the Deep Creek Trails – not difficult at all, really relaxing/nice trails. We ate at Guayabito’s our first night – loved the authenticity and the food. Jimmy Mac’s was excellent also – great steaks and fish. We’ve had such a wonderful time and are already talking about bringing cousins, aunts, and uncles back soon. Thanks so much!
Kajal & Soumitra Ghoshroy, Columbia, SC, July 2009: “We were excited to get here and find the cabin as we had imagined it to be – clean, rustic, decorated in the good taste and good quality. But the view of the peace and quiet were a bonus. Together it made the combination charming and relaxing. Thanks to Tee for checking up on us and giving us useful ideas for adventure of sightseeing. Our trip to Cherokee and the evening show of “UntoThese Hills” were quite a new experience for us. Enjoyed the little stores in downtown Bryson City, the coffee and the train ride. Definitely coming back again and again. The kids loved the loft bedroom upstairs. The dogs enjoyed their entire day on the deck and their view. Thank you for leaving a little gift for the dogs! Very thoughtful of you.”
Alanna, Max, Maureen, and Dennis – The Foster’s, Westlake, OH, July 2009: “Our whole family enjoyed this trip very much! The cabin was clean, and gorgeous. We had a great time going into town. We went horseback riding, tubing, zip lining, hiking to the top of one of the tallest mountains, and even to the local pool. The pool was great. It only cost $3.00 a person and was open every day but Sunday. The pool was like its own little world because the life guards were very friendly and play really fun and unique games with all the kids. And the people that swim there are also a blast to hang around. The pool rules are also very laid back as well. Over all we had a very lovely time and look forward to our next visit here.”
Rhonda & Wes Gilmore, Brentwood, TN, July 2009: “Thanks for the relaxing time at Angel Cabins. I never charged the cell phone, never even talked to work or home. (Whew!)
